Linda Nichols started quilting prior 1999. She wanted to learn to quilt but was intimidated. She enrolled in a kid's quilting class and was hooked.  2014 she purchased a Handi Quilter HQ 18 Avante with Pro-Stitcher Quilting Machine.  2016 she purchased a APQS Millennium with Quilt Path Computerized Quilting System.  Both are used daily.

Dogpatch Quilting offers longarm quilting services for that special heirloom quilt.  “Call me about making your pieced quilt top special and I will quilt it for you."   “Like” us on Dogpatch Quilting Facebook.

About Us

Dogpatch is a hollow (aka hollar) near the small town of Sylvester WV.  Linda's husband grew up there.  The hollar's offical name is Pack Branch but locals know it as Dogpatch.  The nickname came from the comic Li'l Abner's Dogpatch due the the hilly area with many dog owners.  Around 1999 local, Carrie Jarrell, organized a town reunion, Dogpatch/Sylvester Reunion.  A population of 160 makes Sylvester the smallest incorporated town in West Virginia.

Some notables that have ties to Sylvester are: Kristen Cunningham, HGTV's Design on a Dime;  Billy Ed Wheeler, noted song writer and singer; Robbie Flint, longtime steel guitar player for Alan Jackson, and Lee Hendricks, guitar player for Eric Church and Olivia Newton John.

Linda's husband, Alan, has used the email address since 1990.  When looking for a name for the quilting business Linda thought Dogpatch Quilting was the perfect name.
